Valdez, Alaska: The Switzerland of Alaska

named an All American City, Valdez provides travelers with a wide
range of activities, pleasant surroundings, and a chance to stop
and rest for several days. If you're lucky enough to be traveling
along the Richardson Highway to Valdez in early September, you'll
find the hills of the Tonsina and Tiekel River Valleys ablaze with
the gold of aspen leaves. Little wonder Valdez is sometimes called "The Switzerland of Alaska."
