Talkeetna, Alaska: Shakespeare in a Urethane-Insulated School Bus
very
Alaskan community has its own unique flavor. But Talkeetna
is one of the most creative of Alaskan towns. While visiting,
you may hear local musicians serenade you while you eat
dinner. Or, on a sunny afternoon, you may run across an
outdoor historical play. This is what's happening at left.
The stage is up against a urethane-insulated school bus.
The audience consists mainly of moms and dads. And the overall
effect of this Elizabethan extravaganza is to take viewers
straight back to the days when Shakespeare himself entertained
the masses in the open air. |
