Lower Copper Valley, Alaska: Willow Lake Overlook

at Willow Lake, at Milepost 88 on the Richardson Highway,
on the way south. It has a pipeline viewpoint and a good
view of the Wrangell Mountains with the lake in front of
them. It's a dramatic scene, but it's hard to get a good
picture of the mountains from here because the lack of foreground
makes the mountains look flat. You'll have more luck if
you use a telephoto and polarizing filter. |
