Denali National Park, Alaska: Take the Bus Past Savage River

o get beyond Savage River, you're going to have to take a bus. You get reservations for these green buses inside the visitor center. The nationwide reservation number is 1-800-622-7275. Or, if you're in Anchorage, you can call 272-7275 for reservations. There are some other, private chartered buses that leave from hotels and offer amenities like box lunches. The shortest shuttle bus trip is to Polychrome Pass, a multi-colored mountain. It takes around 5 hours round-trip. The longest bus trip, to Kantishna, takes around 13 hours.
