Denali National Park, Alaska: How Denali Park Works
he
National Park is like an island in Alaska. It's highly controlled,
with its own rules and regulations. To find out what these
rules and regulations are, as well as to orient yourself
to the park, your first stop should be the Denali Park visitor
center. Then you may want to look around a little. Adjacent
to the Denali National Park entrance, you will find a small pocket of intense
commercial development, offering services and accomodations.
The businesses here are, for the most part, only open in
the summer. The immediate area north of Denali Park, which
offers spectacular views of the Nenana River, is known as
"The Canyon" locally. A little farther to the
north of Denali Park, toward Healy, you will find year-round
communities that offer accommodations and services. To the
south of Denali Parkis Cantwell, which also offers year-round
accomodations and services. |
