Anchor Point, Alaska: As Far West as You Can Go

he most westerly highway point in North America is at Anchor Point, 210 miles from Anchorage, and 22 miles north of Homer. The Anchor River is a major salmon stream. You can also catch steelheads, Dolly Varden, silver salmon and rainbows at Anchor Point. Turn at Mile 157 at the Anchor Point visitor center to reach the Anchor River, where you can fish, camp or picnic.
